Help for photo routes, themes, map waypoints, and visual notes.

Memory Spots stores your albums, photos, locations, themes, and notes locally on your device. The notes below cover the most common setup and usage questions.

I cannot add photos

Open the iPhone Settings app and confirm that Memory Spots has permission to use Photos or Camera. You can add photos without location access, but camera captures need location permission if you want them saved with your current place.

Photos do not appear on the Memory Map

The map only shows photos that have a saved latitude and longitude. In an album, tap the map pin button beside a photo, tap the map to place or change its waypoint, then save.

Photo library locations are missing

Some photos do not include location metadata, and some library permission choices limit metadata access. The photo can still be saved, and you can add a location manually later.

I cannot see notes for a theme

Notes are separated by theme. Open the album, select the theme chip you want, then open a photo. A photo can have completely different notes for each theme.

How review works

Open Review Notes from an album and theme. The app shows each photo in route order; tap a placed note to reveal its answer. The current MVP keeps review simple and does not use a scheduling algorithm.

Data deletion

You can delete albums, photos, themes, and notes in the app. Deleting the app from the device also deletes the app data stored on that device.
